LizziDee Levin, RN, MFA, C-IAYT

In 1999, a close friend and fellow modern dancer invited me to my first yoga class and I was immediately hooked. Luckily, I was then based in Los Angeles and had unlimited access to Power and Vinyasa Yoga. A few years later, when a whiplash injury and scoliosis started catching up with me, my practice shifted toward the more therapeutic Iyengar method.

In 2005 I received my 230 hour teaching certificate in alignment-based Hatha Yoga with Lillah Schwartz, in Asheville, NC. Over the years I have continued to study with Lillah and with Aadil Palkhivala, both direct students of B.K.S. Iyengar.

In 2014, I completed my Level II-500 hour certification with Lillah Schwartz, with emphasis on yoga’s therapeutic applications in Back Care, Heart Health, the Organ Systems, Sleep Disorders, MS, and the Asymmetric Body. In 2017, after another 3 years of direct mentorship with Lillah, I became a Certified Yoga Therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT.)

Due to the pandemic challenges we faced in the yoga industry, in 2020 I decided to go back to school to become an RN. My intention however, was not to give up on teaching and sharing the gift of yoga, but to expand my reach and my scope through the field of Nursing as well. In December of 2024, I graduated from nursing school and in January 2025 I passed my boards and became a full-fledged Registered Nurse.
