Adaptive Alignment Yoga

Adaptive Alignment Yoga is based on the use of precise alignment, props, and subtle actions developed by the late, great BKS Iyengar This practice is appropriate for students with previous injuries, arthritis, or other limitations who are looking to improve overall health.  The Iyengar-based approach provides safe exercise while reducing pain, promoting healing, and preventing reinjury. Students will benefit from better postural alignment, a better understanding of the work of the classic yoga poses through the use of focused awareness, variations utilizing props, and modification making the work of each pose more accessible, and better integration between body systems (musculoskeletal, nervous, organ systems, etc.). No prior yoga experience required.
