Rescheduled! New dates: 1/21, 1/28, 2/04, 2/18
Do you have a scoliosis, leg-length discrepancy, or a sacroiliac joint dysfunction and find that sometimes participating in group yoga classes just seems make things worse?
That’s because group yoga classes are typically taught symmetrically and your body is asymmetric! Unfortunately, whenever there is an asymmetric condition in the body, practicing yoga postures symmetrically can actually reinforce the imbalance, and worsen associated symptoms.
This workshop series is an introduction to modifying yoga postures to accommodate common asymmetric conditions: scoliosis, leg-length discrepancy, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, and extreme one-sided dominance (often following lower extremity injury).
By carefully adapting the yoga poses to address your specific asymmetries directly, yoga can actually provide relief from related symptoms, and over time will make you feel much more symmetrically balanced.
LizziDee has spent over two decades learning to adapt her practice to accommodate for her own scoliosis curves and related leg-length discrepancy and SI joint imbalance. She is a seasoned yoga therapist with a passion for helping those who find group class participation daunting because their bodies really need a more individualized yoga practice, and a passion for making yoga therapy and the amazing benefits of yoga accessible to all.
With LizziDee’s help, you too can learn to modify your yoga practice to fit your asymmetric body. No yoga experience necessary. Beginners welcome.
Space is limited. Preregistration required. $100 for all 4 sessions.
